Islanders complete coaching staff for 2010
Pacifica Ca. - The Pacifica Islanders
are please to welcome James Barnes III and John Totin to an already
revamped coaching staff. Barnes has been with the organization since
2004 and has been a huge part of the un-parralled success of the
organization. He has been a defensive back on every championship
team and has earned All-American honors several times. Barnes is
currently the Head Football Coach at Castlemont High School in
Oakland Ca. He was awarded Oakland Athletic League Coach of the year
in 2008 leading his team to the Silver bowl for the first time in
school history. "I am pleased to have JB on my staff," said new Head
Coach Jason Piccolotti " that's one less thing to worry about, I
know the Defense will be second to none."
"He has always been a Field General on Defense" " much like Jason
has been on offense" Says General Manager Tom Piccolotti, " It is a
natural fit for him, we have always relied heavily on his
leadership" "He is an excellent Role model for the younger players"
John Totin, who will coach the Defensive line, brings to the
Islanders an extensive resume as a football Coach and as a former
professional player. He has coached at The JC Level and the High
School Level. He was the defensive coordinator at Marin JC, Diablo
Valley, and Iola HS.
Back in October The Islanders added Jake Drohan to the staff as the
Offensive Coordinator and named former Daly City Renegade Head
Coach, Robby Piccolotti, as Special Teams Coordinator and Taleni "Baki"
Lepolo as Associate Head Coach offensive line. Other assistant
coaches include Jeff Gilbert (Game Day Consultant) Rod Hunter(
Strength and Conditioning) Carlos Rayo, Eddie Deflorio. Robby
Piccolotti has been a long-snapper and TE for the past two seasons.
Drohan and Lepolo both come from City College Of San Francisco where
they have served as assistants for several years as part of the Rams
Championship teams.
"We have an extremely talented coaching staff to compliment what I
am confident is the most talented collection of athletes at this
level". Says GM Piccolotti "I don’t see anything that would prevent
us from living up to our expectations"
